One syllable words sorted by sound: /f/
I am creating lists of one syllable words sorted by sound. Before I dive into the this week’s sound, I need to point out some words with the /e/ sound that I missed last week, which were found by Retrodictionary:
clef, dell, dreamt, glen, hex, press, speck, stem, tend, tread, trend, vex, west, wren, wrest, yen; health, stealth, wealth
I added these words to the /e/ table on my website.
The sound this week is /f/, which can be spelled ‘f’, ‘ff’, or ‘gh’:
Beginning consonant blends with the /f/ sound include fl, fr, phl, and phr. Ending consonant blends with the /f/ sound include lf and ft. If you can think of any consonant blends or one syllable words with the /f/ sound that I missed, put them in the comments section and I will add them to the table.
