One syllable words sorted by sound: /o/
I am creating lists of one syllable words sorted by sound. Last week, I listed ‘rg’ as an ending consonant blend for the g sound, but an astute reader pointed out that an r that follows a vowel is blended with that vowel and is not a true consonant. Good catch!
This week’s sound is /o/ or short o. The /o/ sound is typically spelled with the letter o, but ‘watch’, which is has the /o/ sound, is spelled with an a. Can you think of any other one syllable words with the /o/ sound spelled with an a? If so, put them in the comments section.
